Free Eye Screening Camp Held at Tanur
A free eye screening camp was successfully conducted near Karad Masjid, Tanur, as part of a community health initiative jointly organized by Project Parava in collaboration with Malabar Eye Foundation Eye Hospital.
The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Baby Shankar, Councillor of Tanur 24th Division, who emphasized the importance of community health to the residents of Tanur. Dr. Athira and Binsha Vipin from Malabar Eye Foundation Eye Hospital discusssed the need of early detection and regular eye check-ups in preventing avoidable vision problems.
During the camp, around 300 people from the local community underwent eye examinations. The screenings focused on identifying vision problems, refractive errors, cataract, glaucoma, retinal issues, and diabetic eye conditions. Medical guidance and consultation were provided by a team of experienced doctors from Malabar Eye Foundation.
Falicitations given by Jeffy Jan(Founder & Program Director of Project Parava), Jebby Jan (Direcor of Project Parava), A.P.A Rahman, N.P. Ashraf, Shafi Chirakkal, along with supporting medical staff and volunteers.
Organizers including Babu Jan, CKM Ashraf, Dr. Safwa Rahna expressed gratitude to the medical team, volunteers, and local residents for their cooperation, stating that the initiative was aimed at improving access to eye care and creating awareness about eye health within the community.
